The press publishes original writing and collaborates with artists to illustrate limited edition books. Books are printed by hand on a printing press at the First Bite Press printing studio and book bindery in Portola Valley, California.
The focus of the press is to publish erotica and romance writing, updating the high-quality tradition of the Golden Era of fine press printing with contemporary concepts of these genres.
Books are printed on high quality, handmade paper and bound by hand by limited edition binders using materials carefully selected to create a unique tactile and visual experience for the reader.

Books are typically published in two or three different formats, a standard edition, a limited edition, and a deluxe edition.
