A Gothic Horror Romance for Halloween

Happy Halloween! We are pleased to share a first glimpse of the binding and illustrations for the Limited Edition Book, The Token of Dorian Gray, written by Theodore Gioia and illustrated by Laurelin Gilmore.

The Token of Dorian Gray

Written by Theodore Gioia and illustrated by Laurelin Gilmore, this limited edition fine press publication is being hand printed on Arches Rives Lightweight Paper and bound in our bindery in materials that are elegant, tactile, and which reflect themes in the book, one of which is taxidermy.

Summary: In a secluded mansion set in a wealthy San Francisco enclave, newly married designer Andy Little discovers that his husband may run much more than a venture fund. As Andy moves into his dream home, the euphoria of newlywed life turns into a chilling mystery as he discovers his husband’s peculiar art collection—which leads Andy on a terrifying journey toward the truth.

This is the binding for the 75 Limited Edition copies of the novella. It also has a black silk bookmark with a heart-shaped padlock.

The Binding

The 75 Limited Edition copies are bound with leopard print Lokta Paper and black book cloth with gold titling on the front and a silk bookmark with a heart-shaped padlock. The endsheets are black Hahnemühle Ingres.

$300 plus shipping

The 25 Deluxe Edition copies have a more intricate binding structure intended to “imprison” the text-block while still allowing the book to be comfortably read. The rest will remain a secret until a satisfactory prototype is completed.
