A View from the Binder’s Table

Our Kickstarter Campaign for the limited edition poetry collection, Babylon Songs, was successful. Thank you to everyone who supported this project.

The book is in the bindery and the "casing in" of the printed text blocks has begun! Here is a picture of the two-color endsheets spanning the front cover and the title page.

The last step for the bindery will be to hot foil stamp the titles and adhere them to the covers. The first batch of 25 books are on track to ship out in the next few weeks. If you weren’t able to join in on the campaign before it closed, you can still order the book through this link along with the additional limited edition artwork and poetry prints.

Here are additional photos from the binder’s table. The text blocks are sewn with 100% purple silk thread. The purple section dividers are tipped in. You can see the color from those peaking out from the sides and deckled fore-edge of the book.  All of the lovely sewing will be covered up when the spine of the book is backed and cased in. That large wooden tool on the desk is used to punch holes in the signatures for sewing. It has been great to collaborate with binder Christine Wolf on the design and binding of this limited edition.
